Official ruleset
National Sparking League — Season 01

Format overview
- 5v5 clan match with 2 substitutes per side.
- 12 total rounds per league match — no king-of-the-hill, no life system. All 5 players from each side will fight.
- Split into 3 phases. The first 10 rounds are 4 singles matches; the final phase is a 2v2 captain DP.
Character selection (KAMEHOUSE rule)
- All 4 starting players and the subs must use different characters across the match — including metas.
- A different variant of the same character counts as a different character.
- Whoever fights first only fights 1 opponent. The goal is to win the most rounds across the match.
Bracket flow & home advantage
We go from bottom to top. Subs sit on the sides; the first phase is the bottom row.
- Phase 1 (bottom row): Home-side player 1 picks his opponent on the Away side. The last two Away players who didn't fight then fight each other — that's the home perk.
- Phase 2 (second row): Away-side player 3 picks which Home-side player fights first. The remaining Home-side players fight each other.
- Phase 3 (final): team captain vs. team captain in a 2v2 DP.
Phase 1 — players 1 & 2
2 rounds max per fight. Scoring runs to a maximum of 2 points.
- 2–0 result: 2 points to the winning side. Fight ends.
- 1–1 result: 1 point each (mutual scenario).
Phase 2 — players 3 & 4
3 rounds per fight. Meta characters are unlocked here, but with hard limits.
- Apart from his main character, each player may use a meta for 1 round only — UI Goku, Whis, Beerus, Androids, Fusions, or Giants.
- Meta lock chain: if the 3rd player uses an auto-dodge meta (Whis or UI Goku), Androids and Beerus are locked for both that player and the 4th player.
- If the 4th player then also goes meta, only Fusions or Giants remain available.
- Scoring runs to a max of 3 points (3–0, 2–1). There are no mutual scenarios in Phase 2.
Phase 3 — captain DP
Team captains face off in a 2v2 DP. Max points from this phase: 2.
- Each captain may pair 1 meta + 1 regular character in their DP duo. Only the 5th player (captain) gets this meta-plus-regular pairing.
- Captains don't have to start in base form for earlier phases, but base form does apply to the final captain DP.
- DP cost limit: 7DP or less. Standard 8DP is allowed only if the character's base form is their only form.
- Sparking: 1 sparking per character in the captain's DP — so 2 sparkings total per captain in that match. Every other match in the day is 1 sparking per character as usual.
Match results
Each league match resolves as a Win, Loss, or Draw based on total rounds.
- Winner: rounds-won vs. rounds-lost gap of 7–5 or larger.
- Loser: 5–7 or larger gap on the losing side.
- Draw: 6–6 only — unless both teams cannot make the match.
Standings & playoff goal
- Win: 3 points. Draw: 1 point. Loss: 0.
- League goal: finish top 4 by total points to make playoffs.
Connection test & LAN rule
- 1 connection test per match. A second may be granted if necessary.
- Connection test must be performed with Goku Blue only. Any other character = a warning.
- If a player is accused of a bad connection, they must prove two things from their PS5: their connection type and connection speed. Failing this means they have to be subbed out; passing means the match proceeds.
Penalty & infraction guide
- Each side gets 2 warnings per match.
- Beyond the warnings, every mistake costs the offending side 1 round.
